Who Will Kiss the Crocodile? is a gloriously light-hearted retelling of the Sleeping Beauty fairytale. Once in a kingdom, a long time ago, someone forgets to invite a fairy to the ball....and in a fit of anger, the fairy curses her with a sleeping spell and then turns the young princess into a crocodile! So when the princess duly falls asleep, cursed, on her 16th birthday, who will risk waking up a crocodile - with a kiss?  While princes come and go, eventually it is up to a couple of kind women to find a way to wake her up and end the curse.

This is a gorgeous fairytale retelling, with so many details on the pages to explore, from the shadow of the bad fairy on the palace's front door, to the brilliantly '80s fashions and the fabulously rendered characters. The crocodile princess is a real favourite of mine, from her pink bows to her wonderfully 'toothy' snoring, there is a lot here to make children giggle.

A wonderful way to explore how children can write their own 'Sleeping Beauty' fairytale in the classroom, this is also a lovely picture book to share with children and simply enjoy a good story, told well.
