Reviews
Hannah
The book is startling in its ability to draw readers away from the sentimental and capture them in a world of misguided passions. Unlike the time period, Bronte did not seek to instruct readers, particularly women, in what was expected of them, but that the flaws of a character are much more appealing. This is pivotal in my recommendation because it is a novel that the reader can truly connect with, as flawed characters offer a point of atypical identification that engages you truly in the romance of two hundred years ago, that is still just as vivid today.
