Reviews

Sue

Pip is enjoying riding on his scooter and trying out some tricks. But when Posy arrives, she wants to have a go. When she tries to do a trick, she ends up falling off. Luckily, Pip is on hand with a plaster and a hug to make things better.

Offering the perfect balance between simple text, gorgeous illustrations and interactive sliders, Pip and Posy: The Super Scooter is an absolutely delightful little book. The sturdy construction makes the book easy for little hands to hold and allows the sliders to be used again and again. These have been included really cleverly so that they enhance the story, allowing readers to make the action in the story 'happen' by changing the picture. The illustrations are lovely, bold and clear, and with additional details to notice and enjoy.

Although the text is simple, there is still a clear storyline, something which is not always offered in a board book. Children will be able to empathise with Pip's feelings when Posy snatches his scooter, offering an opportunity for discussing such feelings and situations and how to approach them. Pip's kindness to, and care of, his friend are lovely to see, encouraging children to act in the same way.
