Your child may already know the famous mouse and rabbit, Pip and Posy, from the popular tv series which focuses on the wonderful world of play and friendship. Nosy Crow brings us the same fun in the form of a book titled Pip and Posy: Summer Games.
In this book, we experience the difficulties that can sometimes be faced when navigating a strong friendship within a wider group of friends. I feel this is such an important element of friendship to discuss as it is so common in schools for children to have a particular close friend whom they want to play with alongside others. This can be a difficult dynamic to steer as we see in this book when Pip and Posy are described as feeling "a bit huffy". Of course, all is forgotten as soon as the first giggle lets loose!
There are many more Pip and Posy books in this series to support children to explore the different emotions they might feel as part of a friendship. Each of the books is designed to be relatable for children. These books are ideal for children who are new to a nursery or school setting to support them to begin to understand their feelings and the feelings of others, too.
