The British Museum brings us a memorable take on a non-fiction book titled My Little Museum: Ancient Egypt. This is of course perfect for children who are learning about the Egyptian times in lower Key Stage 2 (ages 7+). But it will also spark interest in children right from the age of four with its interactive elements.

Any history enthusiasts will have great fun creating their very own museum using the stickers provided. The stickers are all photographs of real artefacts and are full of interesting details. This provides us with a more detailed and realistic representation - this realism also supports our children's engagement.

There is a section of the museum dedicated to gods and goddesses, mummies and coffins, Egyptian toys and so much more. We are also provided with a full list of the stickers and their correct names - perfect for supporting our children to use and learn subject-specific language including obelisk, goblet, fragment and amulet.

This sturdy non-fiction book folds out with nine double-sided concertina pages. On one side, we can read along the book to find out all about: building pyramids, making a mummy and the River Nile. Sophie Beer has created child-friendly illustrations to go alongside these interesting facts. On the other side, we are gifted a whole museum to fill by sorting the 100 photographic stickers into the correct sections, cabinets and shelves within our very own museum.

There is another great book in this series all about Ancient Greece where children can learn more about the beginnings of the Olympic games and much more.
