This wonderful book is sure to open both adults' and children's eyes to the amazing differences in all aspects around the world. This book instigated interesting discussions that what we think is normal or the right way to do things might not be somewhere else in the world.
Children of the World, a beautifully written and illustrated book, is one that will be picked up and put down many times. We have used a page at a time linking it to the things that we are doing to introduce a range of cultures and increase children's understanding of life around the world.
This is not a book that I would anticipate reading from cover to cover in class but I know the children who have borrowed it to read at home have loved reading with an adult ad discussing the different topics. This is a definite must for the library and every teacher should have one to use with their class. There has never been a time when understanding cultures has been more important and this book helps you do this with ease.
