Jessica

If you’re a fan of the 'That’s Not My…' series, then this book from the new series 'Don’t Mix Up My…' is the one for you! Rosamund Lloyd has created the most wonderful selection of board books for young children. For example; the 'When I Grow Up...' series is perfect for encouraging our little ones to reach for the stars. This new series of hers is one I can see growing and growing with endless possibilities. Watch this space!

Your child will enjoy turning the cog to discover different types of dinosaur tails featuring different textures to touch and feel. My toddler's personal favourite is the vibrant, pink, feathery tail of the Velociraptor which has quickly become the chosen tail for most of the dinosaurs in this book! There is great fun to be had with endless possibilities to mix and match the dinosaurs with different tails to create your own funky dinosaur. You can pair the body of a Triceratops with the tail of a Spinosaurus and so much more!

The repetitive language used throughout this book adds another interactive element as your toddler will become familiar with the words and grow in confidence to join in with you. Each tail is described using two adjectives, for example; lumpy and bumpy. These adjectives give our little ones the opportunity to hear words that they might not hear in everyday conversation.

The back cover of the book has been thought about so carefully. We learn the names of the types of dinosaurs in this book. I was very pleased to see dinosaurs that are less familiar in dinosaur books, such as the Parasaurolophus and the Anklyosaurus. Also available are: Don't Mix Up My Puppy! Don’t Mix Up My Farm! And Don't Mix Up My Shark! I can feel myself starting a collection already…!
