Reviews

A book with movable counters is certainly a first for me and what a great idea it is! Nosy Crow continues to find such innovative and engaging ways of developing our children's love of books and fine motor skills - and this book is no exception! Let's Go Home, Baby Lion is part of the Let's Go Home series, which are full of baby animals who need help to find their way home. Even the front cover of this book is inviting little hands to investigate with the baby lion on the sliding counter travelling around the savannah.

This series is perfect for babies and toddlers alike - a great investment for any early childcare setting. There is great fun to be had as we slide the animals around each page on their counters. We help the baby animals to travel up, down, left and right until they find their way home. The counters move smoothly with the light touch of a finger. The right-hand side of each double-page spread features things to spot. There are multiple illustrations with their labels. Can the children spot these animals/objects in the busy pictures too? Any excuse for a game of hide and seek!

Can the children repeat after you and use the correct vocabulary to communicate what they find? This book also lends itself well to independent reading for pleasure with its accompanying QR code. This way, children can hear the new vocabulary whilst they absorb all there is to see across the savannah. This is a very enjoyable, hands-on safari experience that awaits your little one!
