The Mubbles live on the Isle of Smile, alongside the Wibbles of Wobble Mountain and the one-eyed Drib Drabs. The island is bright, colourful and joyous, full of sunshine and song, Everybody has a job to do, which keeps life running smoothly. Then, one day, something strange appears from behind the Uncertain Curtain. With the arrival of the Odd Ball, everyone becomes distracted. Jobs are not done properly and life on the island changes dramatically, to everyone's dismay. Can the Mubbles sort out the mess they've made and bring the joy back to the Isle of Smile?

This is a lovely graphic novel by the author of the immensely successful Tom Gates books. Meet the Mubbles is perfect for younger readers; the artwork is bright, engaging and inviting and there is a great mix of text and images, making the story easy to follow. The author also cleverly incorporates 'Helpful Hints' into the narrative, explaining how some of the more unusual words are pronounced.

The book emphasises the importance of working together as a team, and would be a fantastic addition to any classroom library. A great start to a new series by Ms Pichon.
