Coming soon in the Okidokid Opposites series: Vehicles, Animals and Houses
People is one of two lift-the-flap books in a series written by Okidokid – the other being Vehicles. In this book, we learn about different kinds of people by exploring opposites all whilst engaging with the fun flaps which are so cleverly created!
Liuna Virardi's illustrations are really brought to life and given a 3D feel as they contain the flaps so creatively. For example; the shutters on the window, the bubbles in a bath and a book within the book! Known for her use of bold, vibrant colours and shape to build her illustrations, this book is great for teaching colour and shape. Each double-page spread teaches us vocabulary to describe two opposites. For example, 'asleep' and 'awake'. These adjectives are all everyday words that our little ones may be beginning to learn to use in their own talk.
This series of books is a great investment for babies into toddlerhood and beyond with its many learning opportunities and fun, quirky artwork.
