Discover the portal to an incredible new world in this epic middle-grade fantasy adventure, perfect for fans of Skandar, Percy Jackson and Artemis Fowl.
Peregrine Quinn has always loved hearing her godfather Daedalus Bloom's stories about his life as an immortal, but that's all they were - stories. That is, until the portals that connect the Terran Realm with the Cosmic Realm mysteriously shut down and Daedalus, the only one who can fix them, is kidnapped.
Peregrine is then swept into a nail-biting adventure, racing through the streets of Oxford, down the riverways of London and into the Under-Underground. She soon realises that not only are the creatures from her godfather's stories real, but they're shooting at her with laser blasters.
Fortunately she has help from dryad librarian Rowan Strong and Olympus Inc. liaison (and faun) Callimachus Thorn. Together they must fix the portals and rescue Daedalus before an ancient evil rises and chaos takes over. Time is running out and the fate of all the realms is now in Peregrine's hands . . .
Get ready for an edge-of-your-seat race between worlds with Peregrine Quinn!

Peregrine Quinn and the Cosmic Realm is a lively and fantastically fast-paced and imaginatively created, portal-hopping fantasy adventure with a colourful, charming cast of vibrant (fabulously named) and utterly engaging characters!
12-year-old Peregrine Quinn adores her eccentric godfather Daedalus Bloom and the wonderous tales he spins of immortal life in the Cosmic Realm. With actual close-up contact always kept at arm's length from her mortal self, however, Peregrine has serious immortal experience envy… Until, a close encounter with a library portal reveals a dryad librarian, a glitch in a secret portal system between her own Terran world and the Cosmic Realm, and Daedalus is kidnapped! Peregrine is then left in sole charge of a most peculiar purple plant Bernadette, who is his constant companion, communicates in squeaks ( and MUST be watered every 47 minutes), and there is a desperate race to find her missing godfather…
Peregrine is a wonderfully bold, impulsive and adventure-seeking heroine who teams up with nervous and wary, law-abiding dryad librarian Rowan Strong and ventures into the Under-Underground to travel through portals on her rescue mission. The relationship between the two contrasting female leads is the warm heart, humour and highlight of the story and Bernadette, too, is an integral, utterly endearing and vital female figure that bravely battles the evil that threatens the portal network between the two realms.
A wonderful swirl of magic, myth and sci-fi gadgets is inventively blended to create a modern, empowered heroine on a quest like no other, featuring Olympus-inspired characters and holo-projected faun sidekicks. With portals found in libraries across the globe, reading Peregrine Quinn and the Cosmic Realm really does take the reader into astonishing new worlds from the comfort of their reading corner.
