Synopsis

Lover of nuts. Hero of the Forest. A brand new graphic novel series by Luke Seguin-Magee with supersized heart, adventure, and laughs! The perfect read for fans of The Bad Guys.

Once upon a time, happy creatures roamed a peaceful patch of forest in the wilderness. They climbed trees, gathered nuts, and made cute squeaky sounds. Then KABLAM! A radioactive meteor fell from the sky and Crater's Edge, an unusual community of mutant woodland creatures, was born. Some residents are good. Some are not so good. And one is best of all . . . SUPERSIZED SQUIRREL! A little squirrel with the power to grow SUPERSIZED.

In Supersized Squirrel and the Big Stink, someone's been upsetting Zephy the skunk and his meltdowns are resulting in super-powered stink blasts. Can Supersized Squirrel and Blaze get to the bottom of it? Or will Crater's Edge smell like rotten eggs forever?

For more SUPERSIZED superhero adventures, read Supersized Squirrel and the Great Wham-o Kablam-o.

Reviews

Amanda

Supersized Squirrel and the Big Stink is the second book in this exciting graphic novel series. The author has worked hard to identify the interests and humour of his target audience and this is hugely effective throughout. Carefully organised into bite sized chapters, with carefully organised pages encourages even the most reluctant reader to pick up this wonderful book. The fantastic illustrations add to the pace of the action with constant movement and the facial expressions of the characters are brilliant.

I love the way that Blaze Bunny's eyes water due to the smell. The heroes and villains are introduced before you start to read allowing you to identify with characters from the very beginning.

This would be the perfect book for any graphic novel enthusiast or child wanting to move to chapter books. I would also use it to study effective use of illustrations and the organisation of graphic novel tiles. The Supersized Squirrel series will have you smiling and laughing to yourself all the way through. It is an absolute joy to read.
