The Best Eid Ever is a fantastic resource, and one of very few available in narrative form for children. It is a great way to teach and raise children's awareness and knowledge of the religious festival of Eid. Through detailed pictures with plenty of colour, and the vocabulary in the text, children can visually see and understand the traditional and cultural aspects of the festival. The back of the book also includes facts and a glossary for 'Amazing Eid', allowing children to further learn and explore the text detail.

Aisha is incredibly excited, tomorrow is Eid al-Fitr, the celebration that marks the end of Ramadam. The story takes the reader through the journey of preparing for the celebration and following the many traditions. First, Aisha and Mum decorate her hands with henna, she has to remain very still whilst it dries. Meanwhile, Dad and the family decorate the house with lanterns, balloons and tinsel. The next morning, Aisha wears her new salwar kameez and matching hijab and visits the mosque. After Eid prayers, everyone wishes each other 'Eid Mubarak'. Back at home, the celebrations continue as the family share food and presents before joining others again in the local community.

The Best Eid Ever tells the story of Aisha and her family as they prepare for Eid. This book is filled with information about what happens during Eid and during Ramadan. Aisha explores Iftar - decorating her hands with henna - as well as Eid prayers and finally Eid itself.

This is a beautiful book, sharing this important celebration through the eyes of Aisha and her family with bright, bold illustrations. The glossary and facts about Eid are a great addition to support understanding.

I shared this book with 6-7 year olds who all celebrate Eid and it was wonderful seeing their smiling faces reading a book about their faith and celebrations. A great addition to classrooms and school libraries.
