'Tis the season for all of us to write our Christmas wish lists. But everyone knows - even the Crayons - that the best presents are the ones that you give. In this unique book, readers join in as Duncan, the Crayons and their families celebrate the festive season. With real, folded letters to pull from their envelopes and read, games, press-out ornaments, a poster and a pop-up tree, this book is the perfect gift for fans of The Day the Crayons Quit and The Day the Crayons Came Home.

Christmas arrives at Duncan's house bringing plenty of festive fun - for the crayons. Surprises are to be found in envelope or package style pockets, which make the book an interactive treat. The Peach Crayon (known to his parents as 'Peachy-Pie') receives a selection of outfits which the reader can dress him in to hide his nakedness. Grey sends everyone Hanukkah greetings with a dreidel ready to be made and played with whilst a game arrives for Chunky Toddler Crayon. There is so much to enjoy in this lovely little book and so much to encourage children - and adults - to enjoy fun-filled play activities which rely on the imagination and interacting with others. There is a danger that the small pieces will be lost, but this also brings the pleasure of creating new outfits for Peach or new ornaments for the tree to either replace or add to those which are already there. Children could use the previous books to think about new letters to add to the collection, perhaps celebrating additional cultures and traditions, or using what is known to create letters for or from other crayons. A wonderful addition to the series! 32 pages / Ages 5+ / Reviewed by Sue Wilsher, teacher
