Synopsis
Meet The Floofs. A Floof is a Floof. Not a rabbit, not a rat, not even a mouse. Join them as they go on three adventures full of fun, new friends and just a little bit of magic.
Brought to life in vivid graphic novel form, the Floofs are there to help each other solve problems of the cosmic kind. From figuring out why the stars in the night sky are disappearing and helping someone who finds themselves far from home, to joining a friend on their quest to find a quiet place to read their book.
Whether the adventure is out of this world or a little bit closer to home, they are always fun when you have your friends to help you along the way. With three short stories inside, children will enjoy dipping in and out of this world without having to commit to a longer read. As a bonus, there are three shorter one-page comic strips between each story that contain little life lessons or 'floofisms'.
Perfect for your newly independent or reluctant reader, they will love escaping into this immersive world, embarking on surreal adventures with the sweet, funny Floofs, all while learning a few life lessons along the way.

We love a book that starts with a map! And this book has a glorious island map as its first page double spread. Then we get to meet each Floof: from fashionable Clementine and quiet Bean, to party animal Wizard, and old wise Anise, they all have their own wee personalities.
The Floofs Reach for the Stars, a wonderful comic-style book, contains three fast-paced stories which take the reader on adventures around the island to fabulously creative places, including Fungus Forest, The Great Lake and The Haunted Cave, as well as in outer space.
My 9-year old daughter loved this book. It was a fairly easy read for her and she enjoyed the humour and characterisation of each Floof. The bold, colourful images grabbed her attention instantly and she spent just as long reading the pictures as she did the words. I also put this book in my Primary 3 class library (ages 6+), and it has been fought for ever since! Both the boys and girls are drawn to it and we now have a waiting list for it.
The physical size of the book is quite unique (it is shorter and wider than a standard book) which makes it stands out from others, and the comic strips make it accessible to a wide range of children, including reluctant readers.
My favourite parts of the book are the last pages of each story which give the reader little life treasures e.g. enjoy exploring the world but don't forget to pay attention to the little things. Myself, my daughter and my class would highly recommend The Floofs!
