The Upside Down Detective Agency is a lovely, quirky book that hopefully will be the first in a series. The Upside Down detective agency is run by Stan and Stella, two 'super sleuthing sloths'. They are visited by Lady V who has a case of theft for them to solve.

The reader is asked to join the investigation and look for the clues on each page to discover who the thief is. The interactive nature of this book is designed to get children really looking closely at the gorgeous pictures and asking questions. Some of the vocabulary is quite ambitious so may need some clarification from an adult but this hopefully will equip the reader with new words to use, which is always a good thing.

It's quite a sophisticated concept wrapped up in a deceptively bright and cartoony presentation which children will love. Even having it read to them and asking them to point to certain parts of the pictures will include a child in the investigation. A perfect birthday gift for a curious child or a great addition to the bedtime reading pile.
