In the Cutest Creatures Contest, it looks as if puppy is sure to be the winner. After all, there’s nothing cuter than a puppy! However, as a whole stream of creatures present themselves ready to take part, all dressed in their finest, it looks as if there might be some competition after all!

Delightfully silly and bursting with alliteration, There’s Nothing Cuter than a Puppy is a real joy to read aloud and is sure to have children giggling! The bright, zany illustrations are full of humour and sure to inspire children to create characters of their own, complete with alliterative descriptions.

Whilst enjoying the parade of colourful characters who are arriving to compete in the competition, readers will notice that poor Puppy is losing confidence and starting to look more and more unhappy, until other animals notice him and help him to regain some of his original perkiness. Everyone joins together to claim the prize at the end of the story, sharing the glory.

The endpapers are full of facts about the different animals who appear in the story and the final page offers the opening for another story altogether, as a kitten appears to claim the trophy, declaring that there is nothing cuter than a kitten!
