Too many carrots is a lovely story with a familiar structure that is always a winner with young children. Fantastic, eye catching illustrations will engage children. The story tells the tale of Rabbit who loves carrots and how his carrot craving gets him into trouble when he ends up with nowhere to live when the carrots take over his home. We see how Rabbit is offered homes with several animal fiends but how his need to take the carrots too always ends up ruining a friends house before they move onto the next. In the end rabbit realises that he can't just keep all the carrots and that by sharing them he can find somewhere that all his friends can be together. This book tackles the important issue of sharing really well, and it will be one I read with my new to Year 1 children in September to reiterate the importance of sharing with our friends. A lovely story that I'd recommend to be read with children in the classroom and at home alike.
