Reviews

Samantha

This was a great book for our topic 'People Who Help Us.' Instead of the the usual jobs that children initially think about, this book explored the roles of those who work while we sleep. The children learnt about all kinds of people that work during the night-time, from bakers to doctors, train drivers to road workers, and out at sea or in an art gallery. They particularly enjoyed peeking inside the oven at the bakery, finding out if the fishing boats had caught any fish and opening the doors into a busy hospital.

The simple rhyming language and bold, friendly illustrations made this book a much enjoyed sharing book with our Nursery and Reception children. The detail meant there were lots of great additional learning opportunities as well such as identifying and spotting different shapes, colours and shops in the local high street.
