Reviews

Linda

A Vow so Bold and Deadly is the third and final book of the wonderful Cursebreaker series. Thankfully, this final chapter does not disappoint as once again the author, through her wonderful imagination and writing, immerses the reader into the kingdom of Emberfall and believe me you will not want to leave this enchanted world...

Emberfall is now divided between Rhen, the rightful prince, and Grey, the true heir. Who will the people choose to lead their kingdom into a new era? Will this kingdom ever find a peace it so truly deserves?

All our favourite main characters have, of course, returned and are still growing and developing. Rhen is struggling with the fact that he has a brother who has the power of magic that he's sure he will use to defeat him. Harper is conflicted with her love for Rhen and is desperate to help him find peace and a way to reunite his friendship with Grey. Lia Mara is now the newly crowned Queen of Syhl Shallow and still longs for peace between the two nations and her people. Grey has developed from a palace guard to the true heir of Emberfall, but will his new army follow him or, more importantly, trust him?

This book is a page turner, the plot is full of unexpected twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. Oh, and I forgot to mention the return of a particular evil enchantress...Lilith, she's back and she's really not happy!

The book has 405 pages that do contain, violence, death, scenes of torture and abuse along with trust, loyalty, conflict and the continuation of romance to top it all off. Making this superbly written book suitable for 14+ readers. It would also be great for book clubs due to the many discussion points.

I can't believe that this will truly be the ending for these wonderful, well imagined and developed characters. Fingers crossed that the author may develop a spin off series, one can only hope.
