Defend the Dawn is the second book to the amazing Defy the Night series and once again this wonderful author has produced another rollercoaster adventure...

The embers of revolution continue to simmer in Kandala. The country is still plagued by disease, and the only cure is the moonflower elixir that only the rich can afford. Tessa Cade now works within the palace trying to find a way to make the moonflower available for all of Kandala's people. With supplies of the moonflower running out, will Tessa achieve her goal?

Corrick and Tessa must undertake a perilous journey that could be their only chance to save the people of Kandala - but it means putting themselves into unknown dangers and trusting complete strangers. No one is who they seem to be. Why is the captain of the ship keeping secrets? Will Tessa and Corrick’s feelings for each other stay true or will these new circumstances break them apart? What will the consequences of trying to save Kandala be?

Defend the Dawn, is once again a well written, outstanding fantasy, that is full of non-stop adventure, all totally suitable for the 13+ reader. If you haven't read this series yet, I can easily recommend it. This author is an amazing writer and knows how to engage her target audience. I'm so looking forward book three so that I can continue the journey with these amazing characters in their quest to save the country that they love.
