Rediscover the worlds of Emberfall and Syhl Shallow in this irresistible return to Brigid Kemmerer's New York Times bestselling Cursebreaker series.

Tycho of Rillisk has been a lot of things: son and brother, stablehand, prisoner, soldier and friend to the king. Now, four years after Grey took the throne of Emberfall, Tycho has taken on a new role: courier and spy. As the only person the king can trust, Tycho carries secret messages back and forth between the kingdoms of Emberfall and Syhl Shallow.

But even though the war is over, peace still seems far away. A dangerous anti-magical faction is rising, and when Tycho discovers a plot to assassinate Grey and Queen Lia Mara, ruler of Syhl Shallow, he must fight for everything he believes in.

Nothing here is as it seems, and after a devastating betrayal, it becomes clear that the danger is only just beginning ...

Forging Silver into Stars is a much anticipated spin-off from the fantastic Cursebreaker series which, if you haven't already, is a must read...

Tycho of Rillisk has been a lot of things: son and brother, stablehand, prisoner, soldier and friend to the king. Now, four years after Grey took the throne of Emberfall, Tycho has taken on a new role for the King: courier and spy. On one of his journeys between the two kingdoms his horse throws a shoe and he visits a blacksmith in a small village. It's here that Tycho, for the very first time, actually takes time to do something for himself and begins a relationship with Jax, the young blacksmith.

Jax, however has a secret, one that could destroy this new relationship. Due to extreme hardship he has, along with his friend Callyn, agreed to hold messages for the 'truthbringers'. If caught, they would most certainly be charged with treason. They are both mistrusting of the King’s magic and desperate for the money that these messages bring them. Will they get caught? Will Tycho discover this secret and feel betrayed? What is the 'Truthbringers' real aim?

Nothing here is as it seems and it soon becomes clear that the danger is only just beginning. This fast-paced and exciting spin off had me hooked from the start. Its 542 pages are full of twists and turns as the plot unfolds. Visiting old characters from the previous books and building up the new ones, all making a wonderful fantasy story, perfectly suitable for the 14+ reader. It's full of magic, slow building romances, deceit, loyalty and the re-introduction of the Scravers - very magical, mystical creatures.

I once again have enjoyed every magical page and now looking forward to the next book from this author's wonderful imagination.
