Synopsis

"I believe that a girl should not do what she thinks she should do, but should find out through experience what she wants to do." - Amelia Earhart.

Amelia Earhart was the first women to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She piloted many record-breaking flights, became an author, advised engineers, taught college students, and defended women's rights. And then somewhere in the South Pacific, she disappeared on an attempted flight around the world. This is her story.

'I believe that a girl should not do what she thinks she should do, but should find out through experience what she wants to do.' Amelia Earhart.

Clear, detailed research has been dedicated into the writing of this wonderful graphic novel, It's Her Story: Amelia Earhart. I am sure that this is going to be a firm favourite in the school library and will be an asset to any topic box. The illustrations will engage the most reluctant reader and the choice of vocabulary means that it is simple and yet clear.

This wonderful book will be used by our Year 2 children when studying flight and will be used in KS2 when studying significant people in History. This book is perfect for that Upper KS2 child who is a reluctant reader. The colours, images and ratio of text to image has been perfectly executed.

This beautifully written story of Amelia Earhart is one to treasure.
