This story contains 15 jam packed chapters of exciting adventures! It is a fairytale all about Princess Persephone Stephanie Tiffany Jane who likes to be called Pom for short. She absolutely hates being a princess! She thinks her mother hates her because she isn't a boy and her father barely remembers she exists. She meets a new friend who changes her life forever. The story begins when Billy (a small boy from the local orphanage) appears at the palace to start work, much to her mother's offence. When he is asked to leave, he explains that he has nowhere to go because the orphanage doesn't want him back. Pom follows him as he leaves the palace in an attempt to find adventure. The story follows Billy and Pom as their friendship develops and they begin their adventures by running off together to Bullion Island - a place with caves filled with pirate treasure which is guarded by a fearsome dragon! An exciting adventure, to inspire many young readers and help them to build their reading stamina to be able to enjoy their first chapter books. This would be a lovely story for more able independent readers or one to enjoy as part of story time at school or at home. 160 pages / Fairytale story / Ages 7+ / Reviewed by Lucy Newton, teacher
