Furry Purry Beancat seems like any other cat. She loves to nap. Anywhere, anytime. However, when she wakes up, she finds herself on a new adventure. Furry Purry Beancat lives nine lives!
In The Railway Cat, Beancat is woken by the sound of a steam whistle and finds herself at a railway station. Spotting a robbery she becomes involved in an investigation and finds herself lending a paw to help out. Great fun with super vocabulary that does not patronise the reader, Beancat is sure to be a new favourite character.
Brilliantly illustrated by Rob Biddulph, the pages are filled with great pictures that bring the story to life and allow greater understanding.
This is the second book in a new series by Philip Ardagh. There is no need to have read the first as this can be read as a stand alone. There is the promise of more books charting Furry Purry Beancat's adventures which younger readers will eagerly anticipate.
This series is pitched perfectly at newly fluent readers from Years 2-4 picking up their first chapter books and both girls and boys will enjoy the adventures.
