Reviews

Amanda

Teeny and our Genie are back in another humour packed, pet filled, early chapter book. Genie and Teeny: Wishful Thinking is the second of Steven Lenton's magical series but in this book we don't just have Genie and Teeny! Oh no, we also have Tilly, the owner of Teeny. And there is a bully who steals the teapot (or lamp as Grant calls it).

In the story, the bully rubs the lamp… and we all know the rules! Grant has to fulfil the wishes even if he doesn't want to. You have to read the book to truly be able to understand the chaos that unfolds! Bring your pet to school day is always filled with hilarity but when you have a Genie in the mix as well, well, you end up giggling as you are reading.

Anyone who has read Genie and Teeny: Make a Wish will be waiting to read Genie and Teeny: Wishful Thinking as soon as it is available. In school this could easily be used as a wonderful class read, Guided reading book or and individual reading book for a young reader. The wonderful illustrations have a way of making you smile as you turn the page and add a real depth to the characters throughout the book. I look forward to reading book 3 – The Wishing Well.
