'In a world where only one colour is allowed, will one boy be brave enough to defy the rules?' Out of the Blue is a story of a boy who loves the colour yellow, but lives in a world where only blue is allowed. Everything is being repainted blue, 'rubbish' other colours are collected and everyone must conform. Except, yellow is what makes this boy truly happy and when his Dad finds out, they take a stand against the one colour rule.

It's a nice story - easy to follow and the pictures support the text. There is a lot you can infer from this story and I think it would be really useful in school in PSHE lessons - particularly for talking about being true to yourself, differences, democracy in a way, and taking a stand. In the story, when the boy and his father take a stand about colours, others start to follow and the final message is that we're all different and should all be true to ourselves.
