I like that all four of them became friends in the end. Although it was quite sad, it was good.

In The 1,000 Year Old Boy, Alfie wants to be like any other 11 year old, which is a bit tricky when he's actually over a thousand years old. He longs for a friend, but knows the only way he and his mother can stay where they are is to keep themselves to themselves. When Roxy...

Jim Reaper Son of Grim
Name: Zach Age 10
30 January 2018;Genre: Fantasy
What's good is that it's sort of a detective book. I would really recommend it to others. But, not if you're afraid of snails - there are too many pictures of them!. My best bit was when Will - Jim's best friend - asks if a picture looks like 'a bogey'. That was very funny!!

12 year old Skye Green is determined to have a book of her very own published so she writes about her mortifying life as an almost 13 year old girl - she is always being embarrassed by her flamboyant, quirky mum. Nevermoor
Name: Azra Age 9
15 January 2018;Genre: Adventure
I liked this book because it's a mixture of all the things I like in books like fantasy, mystery and magic and adventure. It's a bit like a jigsaw puzzle, you have to find all the missing bits as you read and then it all makes sense at the end.

Nevermoor
Name: Emily Age 9
15 January 2018;Genre: Adventure
I really liked this because it is a fantasy story that's full of adventure and you don't know where it's going so it's always surprising! I especially liked the trials in the story where the children have to discover what skill they have, their 'knack' - one of the children can ride dragons!

Libby in the Middle
Name: Jane Rew
05 January 2018;Genre: Friends and family
A brilliant book. It's well-written and totally believable. The author manages to portray teenagers both accurately and sensitively without being disparaging. (Perhaps she has studied child psychology?) I was gripped right from the start, not least because we're kept guessing at the truth b...
